Perhaps we should clear one thing up right off for those of you unfamiliar with zines.

What’s a zine?

Here’s a short explanation via the folks at ZineWorld---

"Zine (pronounced "zeen," like "magazine") is a self-published, small circulation, non-commercial booklet or magazine, usually produced by one person or a few individuals”

What’s the Las Vegas Zine Library?!

The Las Vegas Zine Library (LVZL) is an independent library hosted by the Beat Coffeehouse and run by Jeffrey B. Grindley. The LVZL is currently the ONLY place where Las Vegas residents can learn about, share, and read a unique collection of hundreds of zines from all around the world! We have zines of every color, shape, size and topic you can think of to get into. There is a Zine Drop Box where you can add to the collection and get involved!

We are open during the Beat’s regular business hours, and work like the reference section at a public library (take from shelf, read at your table while enjoying coffee, and return it to the shelves), which keeps things simple like they should be. While you get down on some wicked grub and slurp down copious amounts of fluids, get absorbed in the LVZL ! See you soon!

To inquire about having the LVZL host a workshop at your school, help sponsor an event, or find out about anything zine related, contact Jeff at lvzinelibrary@gmx.com
